At the time of the New Year festival in winter, a most elegant and valued plum flower called “dong fen”(winter powder)will blossom. It is widely known to be the king of white plum blossoms. That is the subject of this painting by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. A strong contrast is presented by the graceful dense ink that was used to paint the tree trunk and the whiting used to from the flowers. The spatial effect of farness adds to the charm of the picture, providing the viewer with an awareness of both emptiness and form. A very special aspect of this painting is that the artist did not apply powerful, bold strokes of uneven contour and content. Rather, ink was applied through a gradual moistening process, manifesting the strong talent of the artist. This is extremely rare.
This plum blossom painting conveys a feeling of beauty and realism. The arrangement and structure of the branches, twigs and flowers prominently demonstrate the total proficiency of the artist in painting plum flowers, a proficiency that incorporates both ancient ways and novel ideas. Without this proficiency, it would be impossible to paint such lifelike flowers with such natural structures.

優雅的梅花通常在冬日里,大約春節前後盛開,故將其稱之為“冬粉”。它即是被大眾稱作四君子的白梅花。這幅畫是H.H.第三世多杰羌佛所創作。墨水勾畫的樹幹與白色的花朵形成了強烈的對比,看似密集卻不失優雅。這種創作手法,既提升了作品本身的視覺效果,又為觀賞者營造了一種遐想的空間。這幅畫的特別之處在於,羌佛沒有選用傳統的輪廓勾畫來凸顯樹木的參差感,相反,祂大膽的選用其獨特的墨水漸變手法,為作品增添了幾分層次感。這種罕見的描繪手法展現了羌佛獨特的繪畫天賦。
這幅美麗的梅花作品傳遞了一種現實主義感。對於樹枝及花的處理手法,恰巧展現了羌佛的繪畫功力。如果沒有這般深厚的功力,是無法將這種傳統的繪畫手法與新穎的創意相融合的,更不可能將花朵畫的如此自然,栩栩如生。
